Our Development line of business is currently seeking an experienced Community Development Manager to join the team based in our St Kilda Road Office. Reporting to the Senior Community Development Manager, and with a focus on our central, eastern and south-eastern projects, the Community Development Manager will be responsible for promoting an authentic sense of community and liveability.

Projects will include work across new land acquisitions, with a secure project pipeline and projected growth across the region which you will be an intrinsic part of helping to build and shape new and emerging communities and set key directions from the ground up.

As the successful applicant, this role will see your responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and implementation of Community Development Plans, facilitation of partnerships that support project and social sustainability objectives
  • Develop initiatives including activities, programs and events to assist residents to build connection and foster belonging
  • Undertaking community consultations
  • Identifying and building partnerships with relevant stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities for community led initiatives and supporting established community groups
  • Present draft reports to stakeholders, council and wider community for feedback
  • Liaising with internal development and sustainability teams regarding community and resilience initiatives in line wit our “A Different Way” strategy
  • Provide reporting commentary including budget forecasting and expenditure control.  

As the ideal applicant you will possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience in Placemaking programs
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering community programs, managing events, strategic activations and creating community engagement in CALD communities
  • An understanding of Asset Based Community Development
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite essential
