We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our high-performing Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Stepping into this maternity leave cover, we need a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running, take the reins, and provide immediate commercial support for the business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager - Finance, this full-time role is based at our office in Rhodes, NSW. You will be embedded within the QLD Development business, which is currently delivering large-scale master-planned residential projects such as The Quarry, Brookhaven, and Round Mountain.
As a member of the Development Finance Leadership Team, you will provide strategic thought leadership and lead a team of two direct reports, coaching them to high performance.
What you’ll do
Commercial Partnering: Partner with the GM Development (QLD) to provide timely and accurate analysis and insights, solving finance-related issues to drive project and portfolio profitability.
Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Corporate teams to achieve positive commercial outcomes, advising on the optimal finance outcomes of various project ownership structures.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead and deliver bi-annual project forecasts, assist with scenario modelling, and deliver accurate insights into the key drivers of profitability, risks, and opportunities within the QLD portfolio.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare insightful monthly financial results and performance packs for the GM, covering project performance, trading margin, overheads, and capital.
Audit & Compliance: Take responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet, and prepare audited financial statements as required.
Continuous Improvement: Partner with the Finance Process Improvement Manager to identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across the finance and development teams.
What you’ll bring
5+ years’ finance experience. You are someone who is willing to transition into a new environment and deliver results immediately.
5+ years’ experience within a large property business, with exposure to residential development being highly regarded.
Degree qualified (major in Business, Economics, or Finance/Accounting) and CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification.
Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and experience in a business-facing finance role analysing trends and key metrics.
A strong stakeholder relationship builder with a high level of integrity, a track record of process improvement, and the ability to challenge the status quo.
